Prepare records. Know where filing begins.
TaxStatement prepares a bookkeeping working paper. It is not HMRC-recognised MTD filing software and does not send quarterly updates or tax returns.
Quarterly updates are cumulative
HMRC’s standard update period ending 5 October runs from 6 April, with a 7 November deadline. Do not treat it as July-to-October data only. Calendar update periods differ. Check the appropriate period in your compatible software.
Use compatible software for submission
A downloaded CSV or Excel file is not an MTD submission. Review records with your accountant and use compatible software, ensuring the digital record and digital-link requirements of your workflow are met. We do not certify that this export meets those requirements.
Avoid automatic tax assumptions
A transfer is not automatically turnover. A meal is not automatically deductible. Residential property financing can need separate tax treatment. The workspace deliberately leaves eligibility and tax adjustments to a qualified review.
